Have you ever been on the lake on a float and found you had drifted out to deep water? I believe we do that with God. Our busy lives and schedules keep us from drawing close to him. Without Him, it is easy to find ourselves in deep water!! Thank goodness he is our savior to save us when we drift and our anchor to keep us secure. Thank you Lord for the hope we have in YOU!

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.”

I woke up this morning to the beautiful rain outside. It reminded me that rain is considered a blessing in the Bible. We need rain to produce a harvest in our crops. We need the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to produce fruit in our lives! The people of Isaiah's time had fallen away from serving the Lord. They had brought in other gods, used faulty scales, sacrificed their children in the fire, had corrupt judges and had basically turned away from their faith. (sounds familiar, huh?) God brought prophets to warn them of judgement coming...exile and captivity. Isaiah spoke this beautiful verse to the people reminding them of what our Father's blessings look like:

​Plants wither and die without this blessed rain and cannot produce a harvest... Our spiritual life is the same. Fill up on the goodness of God and if you diligently seek Him, you will find Him! Be blessed and enjoy the rain!
